# Need Advice on Getting Started with VTK for a Beginner Project

Hi everyone,

I am new to VTK and looking to dive into a small project to get familiar with it. I have been reading the documentation and playing around with some basic examples, but I feel like I could use some advice on how to structure my learning to get the most out of it.

The project I have in mind involves visualizing some simple 3D data. Nothing too fancy- just something that can help me get comfortable with the basics of VTK. I have looked through these [https://www.kitware.com/courses/vtk-beginner-course/](https://www.kitware.com/courses/vtk-beginner-course/) [what is mulesoft](https://www.igmguru.com/blog/what-is-mulesoft), articles/resources, they are very informative but I would love to hear more from the community members.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What resources or tips would you recommend for someone just starting out?

Also, are there any common pitfalls or mistakes I should avoid when working with VTK as a beginner?
