Hi again, so I got CMake to configure and generate Pulse, and opened the project in Visual Studios. When I build the solution, it results in several warnings saying a file called protobuf-update is missing, but looking at the output, it seems that protobuf builds just fine. It’s the pulse build that is seeming to fail. I don’t know if this is helpful, but I added the entire output below. I bolded some of the lines that I think are pointing to an issue, but if you have any idea why the build wouldn’t be working I’d appreciate it.

EDIT: I’m not sure why some of the font became very large below, the regular sized font, bolded sections are the ones I’m trying to call out…

Does C:/Users/tyree.cowell/Documents/ISAAC/Pulse-builds/eigen/install/include/
Exist and have files in it?

Yes, it has another folder called ‘Eigen’, a folder called ‘unsupported’ and a file called ‘signature\_of\_eigen3\_matrix\_library’

There is an Eigen file in that folder right?

Well, it looks like Pulse/CMake/FindEigen.cmake is looking for this file
/Eigen/src/Core/util/Macros.h

If that file is there you might want to try to rebuild just the Pulse project.

Hi again,

The file does exist in the Eigen folder, so it looks like I should try to built just the Pulse project. I’m still somewhat new to this, could you explain to me how to run a single project?

Thanks

Try to open and build the Pulse.sln in your engine-REL\_2\_3\_0\_build/Pulse directory

ok, I don’t have a folder ‘engine-REL\_2\_3\_0\_build’, I only have an ‘engine-REL\_2\_3\_0’. Here’s what that folder looks like:

 ![Screenshot (93)](https://discourse.kitware.com/uploads/default/original/1X/f3d4d24571e7dd65b7c8f6785b7b19252ce79652.png)

I tried running PulseCSharp but I got a ton of errors about missing files.

The other option is that you meant for me to run something out of the ‘Pulse\_builds’ folder… This is what that looks like.

Which file exactly should I be trying to open?

You visual studio files will always be created in your build directory
Sorry, your build directory is Pulse-builds
There is a Pulse directory in there, can you open and try to build the Pulse.sln in there?

hmm, the Pulse folder only has 2 folders in it: src and tmp, no other files. I looked through src and tmp and didn’t see Pulse.sln in there either…

Can you open your CMake GUI and use the’ `Browse Build...` button and set it to that directory
What does it say EIGEN3\_INCLUDE\_DIR is?

Here is mine
